Dragon’s Den Elite Boxing Program already serves students from Metro Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey,White Rock,Langley and is geared for beginners to advanced levels. Whether you intend to work on your fitness levels or eventually become competitive in boxing it is crucial to have a solid grasp of the fundamental basics.

Our Head Coach is NCCP rated and has trained local and provincial champions through Boxing BC and the CSABC. Our charter CSABC membership aligns us as a WBC (World Boxing Council) Boxing affiliate thus allowing our members access to the very best in instruction for recreational fitness or competitive aspirations.

Our one of kind Boxing program was developed especially with these goals in mind, offering our members an encouraging and friendly atmosphere where they can rapidly develop a solid foundation in hand skills for striking. We understand what it takes to get started in boxing and our classes will teach you everything necessary to get started today.

Boxing is great to develop a strong core, great cardio, strong legs, and good overall muscle co-ordination. Many students come to develop their striking abilities as a self-defense method, yet others are more interested in the fitness and weight loss benefits that ‘the sweet science’ has to offer. Stop by to learn more about boxing and how to get started.

Muay Thai Kickboxing

DRAGON’S DEN MUAY THAI HAS BEGINNER AND INTRODUCTORY MUAY THAI & KICKBOXING CLASSES STARTING EVERY DAY!

Dragon’s Den Elite in Surrey-White Rock is the only gym where you will find a former fighters and champions as instructors.  Our classes are taught by passionate professionals, eager to introduce beginners like yourself into their first day of training right away.

With many male and female beginners starting their first class daily, DEMA is the best beginner-friendly Muay Thai -Kickboxing club in the Surrey-White Rock area.

Easy and quick to learn for beginners, Muay Thai Kickboxing is a total body and cardio workout that will develop your kicks, punches, knees, and elbows into a completely efficient striking system. It is the ultimate style to develop self-defence skills and confidence, while also inducing healthy weight loss and fitness.

A practitioner of Muay Thai Kickboxing thus has the ability to execute strikes using eight “points of contact,” as opposed to “two points” (fists) in boxing and “four points” (fists, feet) used in the primarily sport-oriented forms of martial arts. Muay Thai is an especially versatile, brutal, straightforward martial art. With the success of Muay Thai and Kickboxing in mixed martial arts fighting, it has become the de facto martial art of choice for competitive stand-up fighters.

As a result, it has evolved and incorporated much more powerful hand striking techniques used in western style boxing. Worldwide, Muay Thai Kickboxing has been very effective in mixed martial arts fights. Mixed martial artists such as Anderson Silva and Jose Aldo have combined many striking elements of Muay Thai Kickboxing with grappling, submission, and choking elements from Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, or into a hybrid synthesis that has been highly effective in defeating practitioners of “pure” martial arts.

No-Gi Jiu Jitsu

DRAGON’S DEN AWARD WINNING NO-Gi JIU JITSU PROGRAM IS FOR EVERYONE.
FIND OUT THE STRATEGIES OF THE ‘HORIZONTAL’ SCIENCE  AND ENJOY A FREE TRIAL WEEK ON US!

Dragon’s Den NO-Gi Jiu Jitsu prides itself in having superb instruction for everyone interested in the grappling aspect of martial training. Our main focus at the Den’s NO-GI are grappling methods and strategies from Jiu-Jitsu, Judo and Freestyle Wrestling.

No Gi (pronounced no ghee) Jiu Jitsu derives from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or BJJ, which was brought to Brazil in the early 20th century from the Japanese martial art of Kodokan Judo, which was called Jiu Jitsu before a name change to Judo. No Gi Jiu Jitsu is a combat sport, martial art, and efficient, effective self-defense system that focuses on ground fighting. The objective is to neutralize and control a much larger opponent with leverage and technique, rather than strength.

In addition to incredibly reliable self-defense, as well as the mental exercise offered, the body workout BJJ gives you is unreal. You will experience increased stamina and improved body tone. It is truly a complete self-defense system and fitness program ‘rolled’ into one. Dragon’s Den NO-Gi Jiu Jitsu believes that there is no technique too simple or too difficult for ANY student to practice.

The beautiful thing about NO-Gi Jiu JItsu is that there is no pre-requisite course for anyone to have in order the start training. While it may seem intimidating to enter a class where students have existing knowledge of the course material, that is what makes it so easy to learn! Every student at the Den is also an instructor in the sense that they are all expected to help out those with less experience and they are always happy to do so.

Our teaching methods guarantee that those focused on NO- Gi Jiu Jitsu or MMA training can rely on said muscle memory instincts in the various applications specific to self-defense, competitions, MMA, or just plain, simple in the gym fun – instincts that are not training clothes specific.

What does “NO-Gi” mean?

NO-Gi refers to the removal of the traditional gi uniform. NO-Gi is seen as a more practical use for mixed martial arts (MMA) as one does not need to rely on gripping the lapel, sleeve or belt, as is the norm in traditional Jiu-Jitsu. NO-Gi Jiu Jitsu is also an effective addition to the street self defense arsenal when NO-Gi GAP tactics are implemented. NO-Gi GAP tactics are the first training strategies learned thus you will learn effective and useful skills on your very first session!

SCHEDULE

Monday: 8:00pm – 9:00pm
Wednesday:  8:00pm – 9:00pm

The very best instruction to all of our students guaranteed because of what our competition team has proven in the competitive arena.

‼️UPDATE ◾️ UPDATE ◾️ UPDATE ‼️

📆 Tuesday, May 26th, 2020

It’s only a few days before we are ready to welcome back our members for “new normal” training starting next week. We are hard at work making our facility compliant and here is what we have done so far,

✅ New signage were put on our door and walls to remind our members about social distancing, our hygiene station and safety protocols.

✅ Training pads taped for members to participate in. Each training pad will be slightly larger then the recommended 6’ by 6’ square in order to give our members,

🥊 better freedom of movement in their designated pad,

🥊 more optional drills in which to better challenge our members

and

🥊 unique training pads designated as shadow play, speed play or power play stations, allowing for dedicated skill development for a members in-class session.

✅ Limited Class Sizes based on reconfiguring our training pads now allow for either 8 individual non-household members or,

✅ the use of our training ring as a family training pad will allow for 9 members to train on our facility floor.

❎ For the time being our second floor will NOT BE FOR MEMBER USE as recommended by the regional health board. We hope to have this open in the next phase of facility operation.

‼️ Cleaning time has been reduced to fifteen minutes to allow adequate time for more classes during peak periods of our facilities operation. ON TIME CLASS FINISHES AND EXITING WILL BE ADHERED TO. Please, NO after class congregations will be allowed during transition times between classes.

✅ With summer fast approaching and offering increased daylight hours and better weather we will use our ‘outdoor training area’ as much as possible over the next few months to potentially increase the amount of members participating in every class. WHEN YOU BOOK YOUR SPACE ON-LINE YOU WILL ALSO HAVE ACCESS TO OUR OUTDOOR CLASS. Stay tuned for our on-line booking as,

✅ We are in the midst of finishing our on-line classes and programs reservation and booking program which will be available in a few weeks. The first few weeks of our re-opening will be a soft one with limited classes while our membership starts to reserve their class times and program reservations on-line.

🎥 Our production video for our safe space protocols will be on our page in a few days to demonstrate what our members can expect once we open our doors. THIS WILL BE A MUST WATCH TRAINING VIDEO. 📽

We’re so looking forward to everyone’s return starting this coming monday...⏰

♻️ Cycling With Adaptive Changes. ♻️

With another change comes more adaptation. Some parents have inquired if it’s still feasible to watch their children during their class sessions. The answer is as follows,

❎ For the time being parental viewing of their children inside the facility is not allowed due to the limitation of persons being accomodated inside. With the regional health board recommending a certain amount of trainable space per member in maintaining social distance, the main training floor will only allow for members participating during classes. With this as the new normal we have offered the following solution,

✅ Since we are approaching summer, 🌞 parents may be able to observe classes from the outside vantage of any of our windows in which to peer inside. 😎 We suggest that parents bring their own lawn chair(s) in which to view their children after the entry protocols have been met. REMEMBER that your children may be allowed entry up to five minutes before their designated class so PLEASE BE ON TIME. ⏰

❎ With limited class sizes of only 7-8 members per class we have also adapted to the use of our “outdoor training space” 🚦to allow for more members to participate (up to 12-16) within the social distancing parameters allowed by the regional health board by,

✅ Informing our members daily through our facebook social media account of our outdoor classes. This will take place once we have the necessary protocols in place to do so.
A training video 🎥 will be made for our members to view on how such outdoor classes will be had. Regulations and protocols will be included on this training video soon. Outdoor classes will be for various childrens, teen and adult programs weather permitting. 👍

⛩ We are doing our best to give you all the safety measures, adaptive changes and continued pre-cautions to return with confidence.
